What this tool does
Our Mobile Coverage Statistics Explorer has got a lot of great information about coverage maps, but the yes/no coverage information doesn't tell us much about the lived experience of users in each area. So we've crunched the numbers from Ookla's Open Data dataset for many of the different ways Australia can be segmented.
A note of caution - many rural and remote areas only have a handful of speed test results, so be sure to make note of the number of tests conducted. Ookla also doesn't distinguish between public and private 4G/5G networks, which might explain some of the impressive results in remote areas.
